Territory Manager - Sales & Operations

Location: Field-based with flexible home location within Iowa
Territory: Primarily Iowa, with occasional travel into neighboring markets
Position: Part-time with an intended path to full-time
Start: As soon as possible

About the Position
Iowa Mowbotics is looking for a dependable, personable and technology-comfortable Territory Manager to help grow and support our robotic mower business across Iowa. We sell, install and support residential and commercial autonomous mowing equipment, including brands like Navimow (Segway), Yarbo, and NexMow, and this hands-on role combines sales, customer demonstrations, installations, troubleshooting, repairs, trade shows and ongoing customer support. The immediate priority is taking ownership of installations and customer issues: setting up charging stations, antennas and reference/data centers; mapping properties; configuring apps and schedules; training customers; and diagnosing positioning, connectivity, mapping, firmware or setup problems.

This is not a small-engine or heavy-equipment mechanic position. All current mower models are electric. Technology skills, customer communication and systematic troubleshooting matter more than repair experience. The role includes sales and lead generation from the beginning, with more time shifting toward follow-up, prospecting and commercial-account development as field activity slows. Robotic-mower experience is not required; training will be provided.

The position includes a brief weekly virtual planning and accountability meeting. The employee will be expected to maintain timely records of hours worked, customer and sales activity, completed work, unresolved issues and required next steps. In-person meetings will be scheduled only when equipment, training or other business needs require them.

Primary Responsibilities
• Meet with customers, evaluate properties (primarily remotely through Google Earth), understand their needs and conduct product demonstrations.
• Pick up, prepare, deliver and install robotic mowing equipment.
• Install and configure charging stations, antennas, RTK systems and reference/data centers.
• Map properties, establish work areas and no-go zones, configure apps and schedules, and train customers.
• Troubleshoot mapping, GPS/RTK, connectivity, firmware, charging, app and operating issues remotely or at the customer’s property.
• Work with manufacturer technical support and track unresolved issues, parts or warranty needs through completion.
• Respond to leads, gather the information needed for recommendations or quotes, and follow up.
• Generate leads through demonstrations, events, referrals, networking and direct outreach.
• As product knowledge grows, prepare quotes, present recommendations and ask for the sale.
• Pursue commercial opportunities with businesses, farms, schools, municipalities, solar farms, HOAs and property managers.
• Maintain accurate customer, lead, installation and service records, including the next action required.
• Represent Iowa Mowbotics at trade shows, and demonstrations.
• Weekly meetings to go over objectives, updates, and general communication about the business.

What We’re Looking For
The right person matters more than a perfect resume. The ideal candidate:
• Is dependable and can manage assigned work without constant supervision.
• Is personable and comfortable working with customers at their homes (outside) or businesses.
• Learns apps and technology quickly and can explain them in plain language.
• Troubleshoots patiently and logically instead of guessing.
• Is comfortable demonstrating products and asking for the next step or sale.
• Keeps follow-up organized, adapts to changing field conditions and wants increasing responsibility.
Experience in sales, customer service, technical support, agriculture, landscaping, outdoor-power equipment, equipment installation or technology is helpful but not required. A college degree is not required.

Work Location, Schedule and Travel
This is a field-based position with a flexible home location within Iowa. Many days will begin from home and take place at customer properties; follow-up and administrative work may often be completed from home. Some days will be entirely at home. Equipment must be picked up in Jefferson, or Rippey as needed. The employee may sometimes go more than a week without reporting to the physical building but must come in when equipment, parts, training or meetings require it.

Travel throughout Iowa and occasionally into neighboring markets is required. Most work will be during weekdays, with occasional evenings, weekends or overnight travel for customers, demonstrations, training and trade shows.

The position will initially average approximately 20 hours per week through January 31, 2027, with hours varying according to customer demand and weather. It is intended to transition to full-time beginning February 1, 2027, provided performance and business needs support it. Significant Iowa State Fair availability is expected.

Compensation
Part-time introductory period:
• Starting pay of $18 per hour.
• Commission on qualifying sales under the company’s written commission plan.
• Paid product training and reimbursement of approved business mileage and travel expenses.
After transitioning to full-time:
• $30,000 starting annual base compensation.
• Commission on qualifying sales.
• Performance bonuses based on sales, customer service, follow-through and territory profitability.
• Expected earning opportunity of approximately $40,000–$50,000+ annually with successful performance.
• Base compensation may be reviewed as demonstrated performance and responsibilities grow.
Commission and bonuses are performance-based and are not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel and ability to safely load, secure and transport equipment.
• Strong communication, customer-service, computer, smartphone and mobile-app skills.
• Ability to work outdoors, walk uneven terrain, bend and kneel.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and move heavier equipment safely with equipment or assistance.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
